Busy couple of weeks

Wow, has it really been two weeks since I wrote my last post?  Time flies when you're busy.  Here's what I've been up to...
  • Started a summer sermon series on the Book of Acts.
    • We began by looking at the first Christian decision: what to do about Judas?  Jesus chose Twelve Apostles.  When the Book of Acts starts, there's only Eleven: Judas is dead, Jesus has gone back to heaven, and the Apostles have to decide on their own what to do.  They turn to God's Word, God's People, and to God in Prayer -- good advice for us, too.  You can listen to that (July 3rd) sermon here.
    • Yesterday we looked at the first Christian church.  Times change, and the church changes, too, but there are four things about the church that never change: "they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, the breaking of bread and the prayer" (Acts 2:42).  Listen to that sermon (July 10th) on the four marks of the church here.
  • Married three couples in six days
  • Read Ravi Zacharias' Is Your Church Ready?, about starting an apologetics ministry in the local church
My wife and I also got a nice mention in The Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, so a special welcome to all you Big Green readers out there!
