We're coming to the end of our sermon series on our church's Vision. Today we came to the fourth and final part -- Branch Out Locally. Just as disciples make churches, so too churches make churches.
That point was illustrated by our lesson today, John 4:28-38. The Woman at the Well becomes a disciple of the Lord, and goes into town to make other disciples. Meanwhile the 12 Disciples return from town and get a lesson from Jesus about doing the work of the Lord. When the town comes to see Jesus, the Disciples are there to reap the harvest -- but only because the Woman had already sown and labored in the field.
So too, UALC not only reaps what other churches have sown, but is called to sow and labor so that other churches and ministries may reap. Listen to the sermon here.
